Down by the duck pond, ducks, quacks and peace……

You could put on your walking boots, jacket, pooch on a lead and just sett off out of the door from Overdale Cottage. The sleepy village of Harome is truly a magical place to stay, with thatched cottages, well groomed gardens, and its two award winning restaurants. Head down the lane past the church and past The Pheasant Hotel and you will stumble upon the beautiful little pond full of quietness and peace, unless the ducks are having a dip.

Wander further along the peaceful lane admiring the gorgeous cottages, past Harome Mill with its peacock in residence, peeking over the hedges whilst the birds flit around and see the lovely fields of the countryside right on the doorstep.

Take a left at the end of this lane and meander quietly up the gentle slope keeping your eyes peeled and inhaling strongly the fresh countryside air. Take a deep breath and a sigh out as you relax on your break away letting the rest of the world pass you by at 100 mph.

When you pop around the last corner you will see that you are just at the other end of the village from where you set off, so take a left and head down the Main Street, wide and sleepy when you spot the little red telephone box and you will know you are back to your home for the week at Overdale.

Sneak back in refreshed from your walk, hop into the rainfall shower, (as one of our guests named it), and then get yourself dressed up for a lovely evening out of fine dining, lovely desserts or just enjoy a chilled drink and soak up the relaxing atmosphere by just walking along the lane to either The Star Inn, or The Pheasant – you could even try both on the same night, or make it last longer and have two nights out!!
