The time of year for an open fire…..

We aim for our guests to spend a perfect relaxing week in beautiful Overdale cottage, enjoying the quiet,friendly, idyllic village of Harome. Enjoy a comfy nights sleep then be ready for exploring the many historic towns and villages nearby including Whitby, Goathland and York. Helmsley is just a ten minute drive and offers all you need with some great shops also plenty of quaint pubs and restaurants. On days you don’t feel like venturing out, just cosy up and relax with the open log fire, and let your dogs enjoy it all too. They can play hard in the huge secure garden, or lie in front of the fire – the choice is yours!
Once you have visited once, there is so much more to see, like the many Abbeys’, Castles and stately homes, you will have to visit again…… Castle Howard is a must, along with Rievaulx Abbey also the Yorkshire Lavender Fields. North Yorkshire has such beautiful countryside too with areas of outstanding natural beauty which is breathtaking. The cottage is far enough away to be peaceful in a pretty village but not isolated, yet close enough to explore without having to drive for hours to visit places. Its great that you can book for a short break, or a full week which is perfect for that base for shopping trips to York especially around Christmas…..
